Day 54 | Turn Up

Mi Gente. Have you been waiting for the daily post? I’m sorry. My brothers Fabricio and Paraiso showed up and spent these past 5 days with me. Turn up 💣💥! Your doctor had 3 big workshop-parties back to back with little sleep in between.😵 Friday was an all-nighter with Elio Santos, Saturday was my semba boot camp and Sunday was a beach party where your doctor led an animation. Dancing at the beach, especially kuduro, is tiring! But… fun at the same time 😉 A day at the beach☀️🌊, music by DJ Tavos and DJ Lucas, a nice combination of sangria 🍹, speedos and dancing. Your boy is resting today, playing video games and going to the barber, recharging for my last kizomba class tonight. #alwaysworking 😉

My team Kizomba Canada. Kudos! Amazing job in Montreal this weekend. 👌Everything happens for a reason and the reason for this Lisbon situation is clear now. If your boy hadn’t had his papers stolen, the team in Montreal would never have stepped up as fast as they did, to take care company, do performances, keep the classes full without their doctor. Under the leadership of Flavie, Karl and Vanessa, and the help of every single person on the squad, they have grown into a real team, supportive of each other, and ready to face any battle. #kizombawarriors Mi Gente, go check out the videos of their show from Saturday on the Kizomba Canada facebook page and you’ll understand why your doctor is so proud. #ewee

Off topic: your boy is noticing a lot of criticism about kizomba and its different styles. I am not gonna say no names but unfortunately some colleagues are posting videos of other dancers and denigrating them, to show what kizomba is or what kizomba isn’t. Social media is a free place where people can post whatever they wanna post. But mi Gente, we live in the world of respect, humility and friendship. Facebook gave us opportunity to send personal messages to people all over the world. We should use it for that reason more often instead of posting videos of other dancers denigrating their style. We are all dancers, from different cultures. Let us give to the community of kizomba instead of fighting and taking from the community. Words are never gonna solve the problem.

To finish on a grand note: your doctor is coming back soon! 6 days from the Canadian border! But first… your doctor has many parties back to back to back to go to here in Lisbon. Still working hard, still starving, still wanna make this world a better place… but not like Michael Jackson 😂😂. My paperwork issues aren’t over, it’s gonna take 2 more months to solve all my problems. That means #stuckinCanada. Get ready, my people. You already know, it’s gonna be non-stop stories.
